Laptop / Computer running slow

My Laptop / computer running very slow..... Many times we are facing running slow issue. Below are some simple steps for users to increase speed up the laptop / computer. After performing this steps overall speed of computer increased but take a note not booting speed.

Many from us are not shutdown our laptop / computer regularly. We are putting off the screen of laptop and stored in the bag and again open the screen of laptop and start working. Meaning we are putting our Laptop in sleep mode or we can say in hibernate mode. So if you are doing same practice for putting laptop / computer in sleep mode daily, kindly shutdown or reboot once. It will help you to increase performance speed of your laptop / computer.

Delete Temporary files regularly. As per usage of Programs while running temporary files stores in hard drive. If you are deleting temporary files regularly it helps improve laptop / compute performance. Press Windows Key + R it will open RUN program. Type temp and press enter or click on Ok. It will show you all temporary files, Press Ctrl+A and delete all temp files. Again press Windows + R key and type %temp% and press Ok or press Enter. Again press Ctrl+A and delete all temp files. Again last time press Windows + R and type prefetch and press enter or click on OK and press Ctrl+A and delete all temp files.

One another reason behind slow laptop / computer is running programs in background. You can check it in Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc key. Check CPU and Memory usage and End Task high % usage program. Some times your Antivirus scans your Laptop / Computer in background it also decrease overall performance of Laptop / Computer.

One most common cause for running slow laptop / computer is if your computer is infected with one or more virus. If your laptop / computer does not have an antivirus program installed then you are on risk. Install immediate an Antivirus and update the latest patch and perform full scan. Even if an antivirus program is already installed on the laptop / computer, run a malware scan on regular basis. Spyware and malware is a big cause of many computer problems including slow performance.

Suspicious/ Phishing Email and Guidelines to Protect

We are receiving many emails in our daily correspondence and many seems suspicious. Some emails might be phishing. Some email having attachments which contains malicious program and viruses also. Don’t respond to the email if it looks suspicious.

Below are the time when we are receiving suspicious mails very often; 
  • A particular problem that seriously affects many people at the same time: (Covid19)
  • At the time after Natural disasters
  • Holidays of Diwali or Christmas
  • Political election
How to Identify a Phishing Email?
  • Email having link and asking for usernames, passwords, and/or PINs. They try to seeking your personal information, including log-in information to a website.
  • Request for personal information.
  • Message body is an image.
  • Email having suspicious attachments.
  • The sender address isn’t correct or you don’t know the address.
  • The sender name is unclear character and the sender’s email address is long or difficult to understand.
  • The email subject line is attention-seeking or alarmist.
  • The email urges immediate action of some kind -like Email Quota full, Password Expires today.
Below are some guidelines to protect yourself against this threats when phishing or suspicious emails arrives in your mail box.
  • If you think email you have received is looks like phishing, look closely the senders email address not the sender’s name. Seders name may be similar as your contacts in address book of official business name.
  • Don’t open any links especially if the email takes to a website and asking any information. 
  • Do not reply to the suspicious email. 
  • Contact your IT team immediately and ask them for checking the emails contents and links before taking any action.
  • Be careful by not replying to any spam mails that ask you to confirm or update any information about your email account.
  • Do not click on any links that comes with the spam mail, which will lead you to website that ask for confirmation of your account information.
  • Never copy and paste an unknown link from these kinds of spam mails on your web browsers. These links look very humble by the phishers but they will actually land you to some fraud sites.
  • Don’t open any attachments, which can install harmful malware.
  • Be careful by open or save any document or attachment that come with spam mail. Never trust these kinds of emails.
  • Never share your confidential information about your account in an email if asked by sender.
  • Firewall, antivirus software and anti-spyware protect you from these scams. Regularly update this software for security of your laptop or computer.
  • Never respond to those mails, which offers you for business opportunity or ask you to get a refund.

Covid19 - Work from Home. Stay Safe, Meet Virtually

I hope you’re having a great 21 days lock-down.

Work from Home is a new and Great Experience to all of us. With the usage of Internet and Secure VPN connection we all are performing our routine work with the same efficiency and commitments.

But along with that freedom and flexibility to work from home we need to take some safety actions while working for protect our Laptops, Mobile devices and company’s important data.


  1. This is the most basic, but by no means the only step you should take to secure your company’s files. Your laptop must be having Antivirus with latest update patch.
  2. Don't allow family members to use your work devices. Treat your work-issued laptop, mobile device and sensitive data as if you were sitting in a physical office location. This will help you continuously associate your actions with a security-first and data-aware mentality in mind. If you think of your laptop and mobile devices as work-only assets, it makes it far easier to control access to sensitive data.
  3. Keep your physical work-space secure. While virtual security is important, it's equally important to make sure that your home working space is physically secure. Like: Use laptops on proper table and chair like our office environment. Do not use laptops on Dining table, sofas and on the floor. Its help us it from physical damage of devices with water, food and dust. Lock or shutdown laptop while not using or at the time of taking break.
  4. Follow company policies and as per IT guidelines we have to follow rules and safety tips working remotely. Report any suspicious behavior to your IT team immediately. Scan your laptop with antivirus regularly.
  5. Use a centralized, company-approved storage for our all files. Make sure you are using and saving your files on our server only. It helps IT team to backup and secure your work. Do not use personal pen drives as it may contains virus and malware. Please avoid personal or non-official pen drives and UBS Hard drives.
